Starting MSCS at UCSD (first fall semester)
New to UCSD
After graduating from University of Toronto with CS Bechelor’s degree in spring 2025. I continue on my CS journey by enrolling in the Master of Science in Computer Science (MSCS) program at University of California, San Diego (UCSD) starting fall 2025. My main target is to find 2026 summer internship in software engineering while exploring emerging AI technologies and try to combine these techs with software production.
First fall quarter - pretty new experience
Anyway, I’ve passed the first fall quarter at UCSD, it’s a bit different from UofT in terms of course structure and grading system. In general, really happy that I can continue my CS study while taking more master-level courses. It really different expereince from industry internship. I’ve made several interesting projects during the quarter and winter break, and maybe I’ll open another detailed coding blog post to share them later. So, for this post, here are some intersting moments where I took photos during the first quarter at UCSD.
La Jolla Beach View
UCSD’s scripps pier here. You know that southern California has great weather and beaches, so it’s a great place to study and relax.

陶喆‘s Soul Power II at LA
This year, I’ve become a big fan of David Tao (陶喆), a Taiwanese-American singer-songwriter and music producer. I attended his Soul Power II concert in Los Angeles during the winter break, it was an amazing experience with great music and atmosphere.
